Thanksgiving Pie and Silliness ... and More

My little brother, my middle miracle, and me.

More to come later ... this is all Laura sent me so far ... silly girl.

Must be her favorites :)

Okay so she is sending in more pics from MeeMaw's ...
which is just down the road, and where she is staying for the weekend.

It is evident, now, she is definitely sending her personal faves.

I handed the dessert baton to her this year, and
here are my middle miracle's pumpkin pies.

I am so proud of her.

Before the oven ... I wish you could see her "leaf work" she did great!

After the oven ... beautiful :)

And here are some more photos
that my middle miracle took on Thanksgiving.

Asparagus and Gruyere Tart ...
look how proud he is of it.

Hopefully I will have more, of the food, later.

I Love to Make Soap

This round of soapmaking consisted of cocoa & oatmeal,
coffee, and cornmeal with milk & honey.

Here they are outside curing/drying.

I trim the edges of the bars ... and handshape each one ...
while they are still pliable.

With the scraps from the trimmings I form soapballs.

No two bars are exactly alike ...
hardly perfect, or professional, at all.

But I like them.
A lot.

Attitude

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.

It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.

It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.

We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.

And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.

Veteran's Day

A veteran
—whether active duty, discharged, retired, guard or reserve—
is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check
made payable to The United States of America for an amount
"up to, and including, my life."

Today is a day to remember, and to respect, ALL who have served.

I love you all, and thank you.

Five Years Ago Today

My Youngest Miracle Was Born

Hannebelle Wayne aka Nani
November 4, 2005

Nani is a medical/physical miracle ...
all babies are miracles, of course, but she REALLY is.

Not only was her conception a miracle, but
I spent the last three months of my pregnancy with her
in the hospital
and they still had to take her six weeks early.

Here are some random snaphots of her precious life ...
so far.

I Hope You Enjoy :)

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANNEBELLE ...
WE LOVE YOU, NANI!

For those who don't know ...
Hannebelle is pronounced Hah-nah-Bell-lah,
and Nani is pronounced Nah-knee.
