The Whole World Knows Our Plans

Our president has made his best effort to unify a very much divided America, and has attempted to please everyone ... and by doing so he (to me) made it clear he is well versed in pluralistic doctrine.  Yes, he is the consummate politician.

Bless his heart.  

And, to please his people, our president has proposed we call it quits come July 2011 or so ... you know, so we can get back to the good 'ol days, and quit wasting precious lives and precious money and precious resources on a war that is a waste of our precious time. 

Our well-trained and disciplined military will do what their Commander-in-Chief orders ... for that responsibility is part of their sworn duty. 

But they have also been taught ... when it comes to war ... you fight to win, and you do not go to war with the intention of a kissy-kissy political forfeit.  

A nation goes to battle to win. 

Anything less than complete and total victory is a national disgrace. 

Or should be. 

But still, it is surmised, Afghanistan will be brought to a successful conclusion.  Our president promises.  Brute, strategic victory is not necessary.  

I don't think there was mention of the other enemy, Iran, but that is neither here nor there.  We need to focus on America, the land of the free.  And the majority of America wants out right now.   

Americans, in general, live with an instant-gratification mentality of "right now" in dang near everything ... you know, get'r done!

Woo-Hoo!  Yee-Haw! 

What many don't realize is the Islamic world lives with the mindset that time cannot be rushed, and will eventually serve its purpose(especially with clear objectives and rewards in mind.)   For them, time is just an element of life that works for you, not against you. 

You know the saying:  Americans have watches, but we have time.

I think we can expect very little resistance from Al Qaeda ... or the Taliban or whatever they're terrorizingly called ... over the next couple of years.  

And I think they will lay low, and position and prepare ... watching and waiting for the right time ... and they may even covertly encourage the inept and listless Afghans to cooperate with the American forces to make us believe we have secured peace and self-suffiency over there. 

And then America will get to leave with the warm and fuzzy feeling 'our great mission' has finally been accomplished.
